Not every slab is a good starting point. This one had some real issues - discoloration, surface inconsistencies, and the kind of rough texture that tells you shortcuts aren't an option. That's exactly where the work actually begins for us.

Before a single drop of coating goes down, the concrete has to be properly ground and profiled. We ran a diamond grinder across the entire floor to open up the surface and give the epoxy a solid mechanical bond. Skip that step and you're setting yourself up for peeling, bubbling, and callbacks. We don't do any of that.

Once the prep was done, we went with a Raven 1/4" flake system - a dark charcoal and white blend that gives the floor serious depth and a clean, professional look. The flakes get broadcast across the wet base coat, then locked in with a topcoat that ties the whole thing together. The result is a floor that's tough, easy to clean, and way more visually appealing than raw concrete.

This kind of flake epoxy flooring is a go-to for workshops, garages, and utility spaces. It handles foot traffic, equipment, and spills without flinching. The texture from the flakes also adds a natural slip resistance that bare concrete just doesn't give you. Form and function, all in one.

The finished floor speaks for itself - full wall-to-wall coverage, consistent flake distribution, and a sealed topcoat that's ready to work hard. Proper prep plus the right materials equals a floor that's actually built to last.
