Garage Floor Gets a Durable Flake Epoxy Upgrade

Garage floors deal with a lot. Oil drips, dirt tracked in from outside, hot tires pulling moisture right out of the coating - bare concrete just wasn't built to handle all of that long-term. That's why flake epoxy flooring is one of the best upgrades a homeowner can make.

Here's what we were working with - a large, open two-car garage with plenty of square footage to cover. The goal was straightforward: get a tough, good-looking finish down that would actually hold up to daily use. You start with a base coat of epoxy, broadcast decorative color flakes into it while it's still wet, then lock everything in with a clear topcoat. The multi-tone flake blend also does a great job of hiding minor scuffs and dust between cleanings.

What we ended up with here is a clean, uniform finish across the entire floor. The warm brown and burgundy flake blend ties in well with the space and gives the garage a finished, intentional look - not just like someone rolled on a coat of paint.
